Today we took a visit to the hive and all is going well, they have a full capped super of honey and are filling the wet frames we put in a few weeks back (even started capping). The queen has seemed to have slowed down her laying so their was less brood but the colony is still very strong. When we turned up there were some bees out the front on housekeeping duty cleaning the hive.

They were a little bit agitated because of the weather, its been really hot the last few weeks but today has been unsettled and it started to rain as we left . Bees are really sensitive to the weather so lots flew back and you could hear they weren't 100% happy with us opening them up to the elements! The shear volume of bees that flew back meant some were on the floor as we were closing up the hive, my dad tried to scoop some back in but they decided to go for his ankles and stung him multiple times (he's been trying to get away with buying new wellies and has just had long socks on). I managed to get one sting on my finger that really smarts and is all puffy but it will go down.
