Hive Visit

The girls are doing well, they have drawn out and started to fill the extra super we gave them just over a week ago and they are starting to cap some of the frames. We are planning our honey harvest for the first weekend of July. We spaced out some of our honey frames to try and get a little more but we left one frame too much space and they created their own cells on top of the frame!

Capped Honey, the white cell cappings will have to be removed to get the honey out
You can see their own wax building on top of the normal frame

The hive is looking really healthy with lots of bees and white larvae, we even saw some new bees (or should I say newbies) working their way out of their cells! This is a drone you can see some raised cells on the frame- this is what drone cells look like, almost popcorn like, normal brood can be seen slightly above and to the right, it's nice and flat- this is worker bee brood.
You can see a newbie being helped in the middle, there' s also one just breaking through on the far left
